"The fact that foreign ICT companies are interested in investing in our country is a clear signal that they perceive Finland as a good investment target," Finland's Minister of Housing and Communications Krista Kiuru said in her speech at a seminar on 10 December, organised by the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer and network solution provider Huawei.

Huawei is going to establish a research and development centre in Finland. Minister Kiuru believes that in the future, Finland's good reputation together with its long history in the ICT field will bring additional investment activities by large enterprises to the country.

"We have innovative and skilled workers, and our education system ensures that we will continue to have qualified professionals to work both in the traditional ICT sector and in the new digital services," Minister Kiuru said.

Minister Kiuru also highlighted that Finland's decisions on spectrum usage make the country a favourable place for developing and testing mobile software and services.
