Finland and Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 9 November 2021 in Brazil. The aim is to provide a framework for cooperation between the countries in the field of cyber security.

“Cyber security affects all users of digital services, regardless of national boundaries. International cooperation is welcome. It increases public cyber security and creates a favourable environment for providing expertise and services,” says Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.

Examples of the forms of cooperation included in the Memorandum of Understanding are sharing of information, knowledge, expertise and lessons learned.  The Memorandum does not impose any obligations on Finland or Brazil.

It was signed between Finland’s Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Institutional Security Cabinet of the Presidency of the Federative Republic of Brazil. For Finland, Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari signed it on behalf of Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.
