European Space Week event in Helsinki in December

The European Space Week is the largest event in the European space sector in 2019. It will take place in Helsinki on 3-5 December, The event will present the latest achievements of the European Union's space programmes Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo and the new opportunities provided by the transformation of the space sector.

The European Space Week will focus on the following central themes: space solutions in the fight against climate change, the new space economy as a contributor to sustainable growth, sustainable space economy, and space solutions for a sustainable Arctic.

Organised by the European Commission, the European Space Week is a side event of Finland's Presidency of the Council of the EU. It will take place at Helsinki Congress Paasitorni on 3-5 December 2019. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is one of the partners responsible for the arrangements. The keynote speaker of the opening session of the European Space Week plenary will be President Tarja Halonen. The panellists are leading experts from the business and research sectors.
