Finland and Iran sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Information and Communications Technologies

On 26 October, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on information and communications technologies between the two countries.

The purpose of the MOU is to enhance cooperation between the countries in the ICT sector in accordance with the relevant legislations, international agreements and obligations.

The areas of cooperation will comprise information society, telecommunications and broadband policies, ICT standardization platforms and information society services, including e-commerce.

The MOU was signed in Tehran by Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and Finland's Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen. Mykkänen acted on behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
