Minister Harakka attends a video conference of EU transport ministers

On 29 April 2020, Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka will attend a video conference of transport ministers organised by the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting will focus on the effects of the coronavirus crisis on the transport sector.

The transport ministers are to discuss additional measures that might be urgently required by the coronavirus situation in order to to counter the negative effects of the crisis on the transport sector. They will also discuss the possible need to coordinate the phasing out measures in EU Member States.

In addition, the Presidency of the Council, Croatia, has requested the views of the Member States on what type of guidance the Commission should provide in lifting the COVID-19 restriction measures.
