Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on 17–19 January 2023.

The Annual Meeting brings together leaders and influencers from states, business and civil society to discuss the state of the world and find common solutions to the challenges of our time.

In Davos, Minister Harakka will participate in events on digitalisation, data economy and cyber security. In addition, he will have bilateral meetings with different stakeholders.

Among others, he will meet Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications and Information Technology of India.

On 17 January, Minister Harakka will take part in a panel discussion on tokenization. A livestream of the discussion will be available online. Tokenization can allow almost any real world asset to have a digital representation on a blockchain. The panellists will explore, which sectors will see the biggest influence from tokenization.

Harakka is the first minister to be included in the list of the 100 most influential people in the IT sector published annually by the online newspaper Tivi.
