Minister Harakka to World Economic Forum in Davos

Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on 23-25 May 2022. The World Economic Forum brings together the world's most influential political and business leaders, and representatives of research, the media and other fields of expertise, to seek solutions to global challenges together. Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine is reflected in this year's meeting agenda. Minister Harakka will take part in several discussions of the Annual Meeting. His visit will also include many bilateral meetings.

The key themes of his visit are related to digitalisation, cybersecurity, future of Europe and transatlantic relations. At the invitation of Ukraine, Minister Harakka will take part in a panel on digital future and meet Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. 

On Monday 23 May, he will participate in an online panel discussion on digital security Ushering in a Safer Digital Future.

- Digital security calls for international cooperation. Finland is a pioneer in data economy and we support sustainable development in line with our values. This is the message I want to emphasise in my discussions with leaders of the world, he says. 

During his visit, Harakka will also meet Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Alswaha. He will also meet leaders of several Finnish and international companies and the World Economic Forum.
