Taina Pieski to be Director of Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications

Taina Pieski has been appointed Director of Strategic Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Her term of office will last for three years, from 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2020. She has served as Director of Communications at the Ministry for more than eight years.

As Director of Strategic Affairs she will be leading the Ministry's strategy preparations as well as the strategy work for the administrative branch of the Ministry. She will direct the Ministry's foresight activities and coordinate the implementation of the Government key projects. Taina Pieski will be responsible for coordinating the preparations for the reform of county government within the administrative branch of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Her responsibilities will also include coordinating Finland's Arctic Council Chairmanship in the Ministry's administrative branch.

"The transport and communications sector is undergoing a historic change. I feel motivated to be contributing to this from such a position. After a long career in communications, it will be great to take on new management tasks in strategy work. One of my first and very interesting challenges will be to lead the preparations for the Ministry's report on the future. The work together with the stakeholders will start soon", Taina Pieski says.
