Transport Minister Kyllönen to Canada and the United States

Ms Merja Kyllönen, Minister of Transport of Finland, will visit Canada and the United States on 22-28 September.

During the visit, Minister Kyllönen will meet Ms Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport of Canada, and Mr Anthony Foxx, Secretary of Transportation of the United States.

Discussions will focus on future transport services and their funding, future of intelligent transport systems and services, and reduction of transport emissions. The Ministers will also exchange views on the countries' challenges in transport policy.

In Canada, Minister Kyllönen will address the Assembly Session of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO, in Montreal and will have bilateral discussions with Mr Roberto Kabeh Gonzáles, President of the ICAO Council, and Mr Raymond Benjamin, Secretary General of ICAO.

In Washington, Minister Kyllönen will visit the United States Senate to meet members of the Subcommittee on Transportation. She will also take part in an international seminar on the challenges posed by increasing transport volumes in the Arctic regions.
