Mr Harri Pursiainen to continue as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications

The Government of Finland appointed Mr Harri Pursiainen (57), Master of Laws, as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. His five-year term in office will begin on 1 June 2016. The Government adopted the decision on 8 October 2015.

Mr Pursiainen's re-appointment is based, among other things, on his excellent expertise on state administration and the Ministry's administrative branch, and his international and management experience. His has significant merits in developing the Finnish Government, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications and its administrative branch.

Mr Pursiainen has worked at the Ministry of Transport and Communications since 1984. He became Director-General of the Ministry's Communications Policy Department in 2001 and Permanent Secretary in 2006. Before joining the Ministry he worked with the Finnish Road Administration.
