Walking and Cycling in Finland - Invitation and registration to the national forum on 7 September
The stakeholder forum Walking and Cycling in Finland will provide information about walking and cycling and discuss successful measures taken in Finland and across the world to promote these transport modes. The Forum supports the objectives of the national programme promoting walking and cycling. The aim is to increase the number of walking and cycling trips by 30 per cent by 2030.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, and the Transport Infrastructure Agency will organise the first webinar forum on the subject on 7 September 2020 at 13–15:15. Cities, municipalities, organisations, companies and central government sectors that are implementing the national promotion programme are invited to send their representatives to participate in the forum.
At the event, Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka will speak about the national objectives in walking and cycling, and Executive Director Mikko Aho from the Urban Environment Division of the City of Helsinki will speak about the excellent promotion work that the city has done in the walking and cycling sector. The agenda also includes a highly interesting panel discussion. The event will be in Finnish, apart from the Netherlands’ presentation, which will be held in English.
Registration to the forum is open until Wednesday, 2 September 2020 via the link:
