MaaS Summit gathers top-level transport experts to Tampere
The Ministry of Transport and Communications, together with the MaaS Alliance, is organising the third high-level round table discussion on Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Tampere on 29 November.
The event focuses on the roaming of MaaS services across national and urban borders. The report published by the MaaS Alliance in September cited seamless use of services as one of the conditions for the success of Mobility as a Service. The MaaS Alliance is an international cooperation forum for public administration and enterprise. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is one of its founding members.
The MaaS round table discussion is opened by Minister of Transport and Communications Anne Berner.
“If we want to make mobility a service entity that genuinely interests people, it is clear that the use of this service entity cannot be limited to just one city or country. I look forward to fresh views and discussion on how to make Mobility as a Service a global service for citizens,” Minister Berner says.
About 50 high-level transport experts from around the world, representing the business community, research institutes and the public sector, will participate in the round table discussion.
Minister Berner is also one of the keynote speakers at the ICoMaaS Research Conference in Tampere on 29 November. Research and development projects in the field will be presented at the conference and new openings will be sought.
Mobility as a Service (MaaS) is a concept developed in Finland that has gained worldwide attention. The aim is to make transport a seamless and uncomplicated entity where different mobility services are available and can be combined through one interface.
MaaS will also feature prominently at Slush, the business growth event to be held in Helsinki on 30 November and 1 December.
