LVM.fi is the website of the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications. It comprises a set of services, including press releases, publications and descriptions of ongoing projects. The site provides you with information in Finnish, Swedish, and English, the Finnish-language section being the most extensive.

The renewed LVM.fi was introduced on 25 January 2016 at the same time as the Ministry was given a new visual identity. The new structure is in line with the Government web communications standard.

1. Site structure and usage

The site has six main sections: press releases, areas of expertise, publications, the Ministry, administrative sector, and contacts.

The breadcrumb trail at the top of the page shows where within the site you are.  The footer on the page has a site map that describes the structure of the site with a list of the main headings and subheadings.

A search box at the top of each page will help you find the information you are looking for.

2. Web browsers and terminal devices

The website uses responsive design and the content adapts to the used device. The pages are best viewed with the latest browser versions. The website can also be viewed with earlier browser versions but then you might not be able to make full use of all the service features available.

3. Sign up for emails

To receive the latest news and information about recent publications, you can subscribe to our e-mail news service.  It is also possible to subscribe to several RSS feeds. The most important news services can be found under the Press releases section.

The “Impulsseja” website of the Ministry of Transport and Communications includes blogs, podcasts and videos on current topics of the Ministry.

The blog called “Impulssi” deals with topical issues in transport and communications policy. It generates impulse, serves as a basis for discussion and increases understanding of the goals pursued by the policies. The first blog entry was posted on 2 February 2015.

In the podcasts, big ideas are presented and allowed to flourish. The first production period started in autumn 2017 and the first episode was released on 22 November 2017.

The videos focus on the current themes of the Ministry. The first videos under the “Impulssi” theme were released in April 2019.

The site is part of the LVM.fi service. The contents are the responsibility of experts in the Ministry and the administrative branch. The editor-in-chief of the LVM.fi service is Head of Communications Antti Ellonen.
