Mari Herranen appointed Chair of ENISA

Ministerial Adviser Mari Herranen, 41, of the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications has been appointed Chair of ENISA, the European Network and Information Security Agency.

Ms Herranen, who has been Finland's representative in the Agency's Management Board since 2007, takes up her position as Chair immediately. The term lasts two and a half years.

Ms Herranen serves as Director of the Secretariat for International Affairs at the ENISA, the European Network and Information Security Agency, seeks to ensure a culture of high-level, effective network and information security in the EU area. It also strives to improve the capabilities of the Community, its Member States and businesses to prevent, address and solve problems relating to network and information security.
