The Finnish Government has announced the appointment of Mr Jari Partanen (49), Master of Laws, as State Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communications. His period in office will start on 10 June 2015 and is linked to that of the Minister of Transport and Communications Anne Berner.

Before Mr Partanen's current position as Secretary General of the Centre Party parliamentary group, he has worked as Special Adviser to the Minister of Defence and Minister of the Environment and as Senior Officer for Legislative Affairs in the Centre Party parliamentary group.

The State Secretary will steer the preparatory work as aide to the Minister and assist and represent the Minister.

He will work for the same ministries as Minister Berner, who is responsible for matters of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and matters related to the autonomy of the Åland Islands that fall within the mandate of the Ministry of Justice.
