Ms Minna Kivimäki to be Director-General of the Transport Policy Department at the Ministry of Transport and Communications

Ms Minna Kivimäki (born 1971) has been appointed Director-General of the Transport Policy Department at Finland's Ministry of Transport and Communications with effect from 1 March 2010. The Government of Finland announced the appointment on 18 February 2010. The appointment to the post of Director-General is for a period of five years.

Ms Kivimäki is a Master of Laws. She became Director of the Ministry's Transport Services Unit in September 2008. Before that her responsibilities at the Ministry have included EU affairs in transport and matters relating to maritime transport. Ms Kivimäki has also worked as Counsellor responsible for transport policy affairs at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU in Brussels.

The Ministry's Transport Policy Department deals with matters related to the transport system, transport services, traffic safety, logistics and Russia cooperation.
