The new Consultative Committee on Road Safety appointed

The Government appointed the new Consultative Committee on Road Safety for 2012-2015 on 10 May. The task of the committee is to assist the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the planning and implementation of the road safety policy.

The committee consists of representatives of ministries and road safety expert organisations who, as part of their duties, promote the implementation of the National Road Safety Programme.

The committee is appointed for three years at a time and the term of the committee appointed on 10 May will end on 14 May 2015. The committee has a chair, deputy chair and 13 other members, each of whom has a personal deputy.

Ms Minna Kivimäki, Director-General of the Ministry of Transport and Communications acts as the chair and Ms Silja Ruokola, Director of Unit from the same ministry as the deputy chair of the committee.
