Minister Harakka to attend EU transport minister meeting
The German Presidency of the Council of the European Union will hold an informal video meeting of transport ministers on 28 September 2020. In the meeting, Finland will be represented by Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka. No formal decisions will be made at the meeting.
The ministers will hold a policy debate to discuss the requirements for a pandemic contingency plan for the European freight transport sector. A discussion paper prepared by the German Presidency will serve as the basis for discussion. The preparation of the contingency plan is intended to be entrusted to the European Commission once the Council conclusions have been adopted.
At the meeting, the Commission will also brief the ministers on its proposal for the Single European Sky.
The meeting will be streamed at the EU Council online service.
